Hi all LCC members and friends,
I hope this post finds you well and ready to embrace the upcoming cricket season! As we look towards warmer weather, it’s time to dust off your gear and prepare for some great times on and off the field.
To ensure a smooth start-up, there are a few important actions we’d like each member to take:
1. Working with Children’s Checks: All members with a designated volunteering role within the club needs to carry a valid Working With Children’s Check Card (Leaders, Captains/VC's, Coaches, Managers, Committee members). This is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of all our players, especially the young ones. The process is simple and can be done online. Make sure to apply and submit this now, so we’re all set to go once the season kicks off.
2. Register to Play: The (new) registration page for the 2023-24 season is now open here: https://www.playhq.com/cricket-australia/org/laburnum-cricket-club/9424aa3b/register. All players must pay the annual National Cricket registration fee (Juniors $16.00, Seniors $22.50) in addition to our club fees for the season. (Members who played winter cricket have already paid the annual National registration fee). As this is the first time most players have registered on Play HQ players will need to put in their name and email address to access the registration page. For junior players we strongly recommend they register under a family email address (explained via the link provided). There will no longer be any form of manual registration available, so everyone must register online through Pay Cricket HQ. Social memberships will be advertised later in the season.
3. Order your new Uniforms promptly: Looking sharp on the field is not just about performance but also about showing our team spirit. In the next few days you will have an opportunity to access the TNF Sports ('Tails-Never-Fails') online shop to order our brand-new, higher quality and more comfortable uniforms that are about to be revealed. When the shop officially opens, it will only be for a limited time so you must place your orders ASAP so your new gear arrives in time for the season. We will try to retain your existing shirt number.
4. Support Our Sponsors: As a community-driven club, the support of our sponsors plays a significant role in our success. Please utilise the products and services offered by our sponsors whenever possible. Our major sponsors include: Fletchers Real Estate (tell them you're from LCC when buying, selling, moving); Back-In-Motion Physiotherapy in Blackburn Road - tell them you're from LCC when booking and attending); Leading Teams – to help you take your company’s performance to the next level: and Bendigo Bank – Blackburn South - for your local banking needs. Please also reply if you are part of a local business and wish to sponsor the club – we would love to hear from you.
Remember, our club is more than just a team, it’s a community where everyone plays a crucial role in our success. Together, we can make this cricket season full of memorable moments.
